Myntra CTO Shamik Sharma quits!

 

Myntra, the country’s largest fashion e-tailer, is having a hard time retaining top-level executives. About a half a dozen of them have already left the company in the past year, and now joining the list is the company’s CTO Shamik Sharma.

The online fashion store has also announced that they have appointed its Senior Vice President Ajit Narayanan as the new Chief Technology Officer. Commenting on his appointment as the new CTO.

In other news Flipkart-owned Myntra is one of the leading online portals for fashion and lifestyle accessories in India. But to boost sales and further enhance accessibility to users, the company is now reportedly all set to launch its first offline brick-and-mortar store in Bengaluru.

As per a report from ETtech, the first store will be opened under Myntra’s private brand Roadster in swish shopping district of 100 Feet Road. For the Roadster outlet, Blackberrys apparel store on 100 Feet Road in Indiranagar has already carved out 3,500 sq ft out of its total 8000 sq ft.

Myntra is currently leading the online fashion and lifestyle sector. In order to strengthen its leadership positing in the market, it acquired Jabong for $70 million this year. However, several reports suggest that Flipkart may shut down Jabong in 2017.
