People love to be active. Man has invented a lot of special kinds of footwear to support them in their tryst with staying on foot. But one brand thought otherwise and decided to replace heavy shoes with  socks – ultraportable footwear for every adventure. Skinners are hand-made in Europe using a dual coating of durable anti-abrasive polymer made from the finest Swedish materials and antibacterial fiber. And when they get dirty, just throw them in the washer on the gentle cycle. All this is possible thanks to our patent-pending technology that says goodbye to glues and seams that can fall apart over time. We are the first in the footwear industry to do something like this.

“We tried almost everything on the market but nothing was versatile enough to serve the needs of a modern active person: light, portable, breathable/functional, and well-fitting, while still providing decent foot protection. So we came up with a simple but complex solution - lightweight yet durable, odor-resistant Skinners with an added cooling effect,” explained Petr Prochazka, Founder and CEO, Skinners.

The company ran a Kickstarter campaign this summer to fund the new patent-pending production technology, and has succeeded in raising US$ 654,557 on the original goal of $10,000 in 44 days, with almost 10,000 people supporting the project. The company started mass production in autumn. With manufacturing based in Central Europe and materials being imported from various European locations, including Sweden, the company is operating through direct online sales, though it plans to expand to the shelves of the outdoor shop chains.

The company claims that Skinners is multifunctional and can be taken on your next walk with your dog, use them in the office, at home or around the house. Take them to a beach-volleyball game, slackline session or wherever you want. The possibilities are endless…
