The SS’17 trend is also influenced by the world of art, new global doors are opening, the desire to disconnect from technology and unwind, designers this season have gravitated toward a palette that is first and foremost calming. Paying homage to the beauty of natural resources, colors emerging in the spring collections serve as vehicles that transport wearers to more tranquil, mindful environs which encourage relaxation first, followed by curiosity and exploration.

Designers were also inspired by the contrast of urban design and lush vegetation, leading to unexpected color combinations and collections reminiscent of architecture, travel and nostalgia. By creating looks that truly represent the world we live in, both constructed and organic, designers sought to awaken a sense of reflection, followed by playful escapism. Artists, many of whom are known for bold colors usage and strong shapes and lines, played an influential role in this season's styles.

Burnt hues and cool blues

Terracotta, burgundy, rust, cinnamon shades,  dark golden rod, olive, antique rose, oasis,  cornflower powder blue, dark salmon, peach puff, orange, light blue are colors that will be trending in SS’17. – Beautiful color range to use in our daily life. Toasted colors are authentic, warm, versatile and timeless. Contrast it sometimes with a feminine touch.

Graphic urban jungle and tropical fever

Vivid colors are offset by full blacks. Tropical movement of extra large floral patterns. Deep colors gives attention to detail, the pieces will seamlessly transition from day to night. Think greenery, bright feathers and exotic floral’s. How to wear it now -  hit the spot in small doses if you fear the print will swallow you whole.  

Utility style shift dresses with zip and pocket detailing as well as casual jackets in earthy hues of khaki, camel, sand and green work perfectly for the transition from winter to spring. As the weather warms up, we can start to embrace bold jungle prints with dashes of vibrant yellow, tribal inspired golden jewellery and fierce animal print accessories and shoes.


The prints have a tougher look—they aren't ultra-fem with an overload of sweetness. Lush, leafy motifs may scream island oasis, but that doesn’t mean they’re reserved for bikinis and sundresses. A lightweight jacket in an exotic print will keep you warm on cool summer nights (or at least until the next heat wave).

From real woman faces to the vintage stars, various moods, figures, fairy tale and mythological ones. Abstract prints have remained an area of interest for designers. You will find fabrics adorned with local prints like autos, local shops, bill boards, moustaches, illustrations of monuments etc in vibrant colors.

Spot on you

Polka dots are retro which is in and pretty cool. The idea is to time travel alongside the 50s, 60s and 70s trend.  For every woman, polka dots are a fashion must-haves. Colors: white, cream, green, blue, purple and black.


Space summer

These are strong style inspirations where urban consumers apply their street style aesthetic to building the future.  The color pallet is cool like the constellation of pale shades with few flashes of bright colors. Hoodies, tank tops, leggings, t-shirts, shoes, joggers, pyjamas, backpacks, skater dresses have taken this trend to print.

Playful pastels

An array of milky hues dominates the SS’17 palette, updating the sugary pastels that impacted you previously. A key shade, subtle pink is tinged with a hint of peach for a warmer appearance. Jazz up the full body, maintaining the balance between masculinity and femininity, lighter colors are actually quite appealing! From peek-a-boo lace to sheer fabrics the ladies in these pieces, particularly a minty green or a gentle yellow, look like their descended from the sky. Fresh looking casual wear for fun, gym and work.  

Pastel colors on one hand with strong prints on the other while throwing references to the digital culture. Colors- apple mint, muted yellows, pretty lilacs, heavenly macaroons, sweet sorbets, aqua blues, orchid, buttermilk, soft pinks, and delicate baby blues.
